东风劲吹牡丹红

  “唯有牡丹真国色,花开时节动京城。”牡丹素有“国色天香”、“花中之王”之美誉,以其花之大、形之美、色之艳、香之浓,成为花中的极品,是富贵、大气、祥和的象征。
  此幅作品远看得其势,气度雄浑博大;近看得其质,肌理细微可见,处处彰显了牡丹的优雅与大气。作者融合了西方绘画的用色理念,以苍郁的墨色形成枝干,浓重的绿色升华出株叶,艳丽的红色烘托出花瓣,明亮的黄色与含蓄的蓝色共同组成花蕊,赋予画面强烈的装饰效果。作者笔法老练,笔力遒劲,高度的概括力使牡丹的刻画盖在形似之外,纯化了画面结构,一任自然,率意成形。繁花密枝间若即若离,若语若笑,似隐似现,似乱非乱,有光,有态,有韵,幻化无迹,天人和一,展现了牡丹动人的娇姿和含蓄的内韵。作品从整体上营造出富丽堂皇之感,象征了伟大祖国的繁荣昌盛和锦绣前程。

Peony amidst the Strong East Wind

  “Only the peony is really a national beauty with its bloom shocking the capital.” Peony is known as “national beauty and heavenly fragrance” and “the king of flowers”. With its big flower, beautiful shape, bright color, and thick fragrance, it becomes the nonesuch in the flower world. It stands for wealth, honor, and generousness.
  You can see the painting’s momentum, vigorous, and vast in the distance. You can see its fine texture near. The painting reveals peony’s grace and generousness. The author uses the western idea about painting coloring and forms its branches in deep ink, leaves in thick green plant, petals in bright red, and flower buds in bright yellow with subtle blue. This style endows the painting with intense decorative effect. With consummate painting skills, firm and strong strokes, and high generalization, the author purifies the structure of picture, portrays peony beyond similarity, and accomplishes it naturally and freely.
